What are the specific application scenarios of Low-Pressure PTFE Engine Oil Pipe in the engine oil circuit?

2025-01-31

The application of low-pressure PTFE engine oil pipes in engine oil circuits is mainly concentrated in occasions that require high corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, chemical resistance, flexibility and sealing. Specific application scenarios include the following aspects:

Oil circuit transmission system
Low-pressure PTFE oil pipes are widely used in the connection and transmission of engine oil circuits, especially in systems that transmit low-pressure oil. PTFE materials have good chemical stability and high temperature resistance, which can effectively prevent engine oil from degrading under high temperature and high corrosive environment, thereby ensuring the stable operation of the oil circuit system.
Application scenarios: engine oil supply pipeline, lubricating oil circulation system, etc.
Oil cooling system
In some high-performance or heavy-duty engines, the engine oil needs to be cooled by a cooler to prevent the oil temperature from being too high and causing the lubrication performance to decrease. PTFE oil pipes are often used in oil cooling systems due to their excellent heat and corrosion resistance, transferring high-temperature oil from the engine to the oil cooler and returning the cooled oil to the engine.
Application scenarios: engine oil cooler and oil pump, oil pipe connection part.
Engine oil pressure regulation system
PTFE oil pipes are also used in oil pressure regulation systems, especially in occasions where oil pressure is regulated by valves. PTFE oil pipes can withstand different pressure changes and maintain the sealing of the oil circuit, while avoiding leakage and ensuring the stability of the oil pressure system.
Application scenario: the connection between the oil pressure regulating valve and the engine oil circuit.
Connection between the oil filter and the oil pump
The oil filter is an important part of the engine oil circuit and is responsible for cleaning impurities in the oil. PTFE oil pipes can transport clean oil from the oil filter to the oil pump to ensure the fluidity and cleanliness of the oil. In this process, the corrosion resistance and wear resistance of PTFE help extend the service life of the oil system.

Application scenario: Oil pipe connection between the oil filter and the oil pump.
High-temperature oil transmission between engine components
In some applications where high-temperature oil transmission is required, PTFE oil pipes can ensure that the oil still maintains good fluidity in a high-temperature environment and effectively prevent the expansion, aging, and cracking of the oil pipe. This feature is especially important in racing cars and high-performance engines.
Application scenario: Lubricating oil delivery pipelines in high-temperature areas inside the engine, such as oil connections between the intake system and the exhaust system under high-temperature working environments.
Turbocharger oil circuit
During the operation of the turbocharger, the engine oil is used to lubricate the turbine blades and bearings. In such applications, low-pressure PTFE oil pipes are usually used to connect the turbocharger to the oil circuit of the engine. The high temperature resistance and low friction coefficient characteristics of PTFE materials can help reduce leakage or oil pressure fluctuations in the oil circuit.
Application scenario: connection between turbocharger and engine oil system.
Hydraulic oil circuit system
Hydraulic oil is required to drive mechanical parts in some engine systems. PTFE oil pipes are often used in the transmission of hydraulic oil circuits due to their excellent corrosion resistance and chemical resistance. Hydraulic systems usually need to withstand a certain oil pressure, and low-pressure PTFE oil pipes can effectively maintain sealing and prevent leakage.
Application scenario: connection between hydraulic oil pumps and actuators.
Oil recovery system
In the engine oil circuit, it is also necessary to recover excess oil to the oil pan and other parts through the return pipe. Low-pressure PTFE oil pipes are often used in these return pipes because of their good oil resistance, high temperature resistance and chemical stability, which can effectively ensure the smooth return of oil while reducing the risk of leakage.
Application scenario: oil return line between the oil pan and other engine parts.
Fuel and lubricant shared line
In some engine designs, the fuel line and lubricant line may be close to each other or share a line. In order to avoid cross contamination of fuel and lubricant, the oil pipe of PTFE material provides good isolation. PTFE can prevent mutual reaction or cross leakage between different oil products.
Application scenario: the transmission part of fuel and oil in the shared pipeline system.

Low-pressure PTFE engine oil pipe has a wide range of application scenarios, involving multiple links of the engine oil circuit, especially in the lubrication, cooling and oil pressure regulation systems under high temperature, high pressure and high corrosion environment. Because PTFE has excellent high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, chemical resistance and low friction, it can play an important role in complex and demanding engine oil circuits to ensure the stability and reliability of the system.
