What are the material compatibility characteristics of the Hose Pipe Series connections and interfaces?

2024-10-16

In the application of the hose series, the material compatibility of the connection and interface is an important factor to ensure the safety, effectiveness and durability of the system. Choosing the right material can prevent leaks, chemical degradation and equipment failure. The following are the key performances of hose connections and interfaces in terms of material compatibility:

PVC hose is light, flexible and low-cost, suitable for the transportation of water and low-concentration chemicals. It performs well with most aqueous solutions and some acid chemicals, but is not suitable for strong solvents and oils, because these substances may cause degradation and swelling of PVC materials.

Rubber hose has excellent flexibility and wear resistance and is often used in high-pressure and high-temperature environments. Natural rubber has weak resistance to oils and certain chemicals and may age or degrade when in contact. Therefore, specific types of rubber (such as fluororubber) are used for the transportation of oils and chemicals.

Polyurethane hose has high wear resistance and good flexibility, suitable for harsh environments. It has good resistance to a variety of chemicals, but applications beyond its temperature range should be avoided and it is generally not suitable for the transportation of high-temperature fluids.

Silicone hose is resistant to high temperatures and chemicals, suitable for food-grade and medical applications. It performs well for high temperatures and many chemicals, but may have insufficient strength in high-pressure environments.

Stainless steel:
High corrosion resistance, suitable for high pressure applications. Good resistance to water, steam and most chemicals, especially in hot and corrosive environments.

Brass:
Good corrosion resistance and electrical conductivity, often used in low to medium pressure applications. Compatible with water and some chemicals, but may be affected in strong acid or alkaline environments.

Polypropylene:
Lightweight and resistant to many chemicals, suitable for low pressure environments. Performs well with most acids, bases and salt water, but needs to be used with caution in high temperature and high pressure applications.

Nylon:
High strength and good flexibility, suitable for light pipe connections. Although resistant to most chemicals, it may absorb water and swell in high humidity, so the environment should be considered when selecting.

Each material performs differently in high or low temperature conditions. When selecting a material, consider its stability within the required temperature range. Make sure the pressure rating of the selected connection material matches the working pressure of the hose to avoid failure in high pressure environments.

In outdoor applications, the material needs to be resistant to UV and ozone to prevent aging and degradation. Metal connections need to be rust-proofed, especially in humid environments, to maintain long-term reliability of the connection.

When choosing the connections and interfaces of the Hose Pipe Series, material compatibility is an important factor that cannot be ignored. By understanding the characteristics and compatibility of different materials, potential problems can be effectively prevented and the safety and reliability of the system can be improved. Regular maintenance and inspection can also help to timely discover and solve problems caused by material incompatibility, ensuring the long-term stable operation of the hose system.
